A project shoot creating a photo-essay based on the city streets of Manchester. Define a theme, work to a brief and meet the challenge of telling the story of your concept through your imagery.
Defining a theme: implementing a street shooting style; choosing the media output; showcasing your work.
Pre-planning a shoot: working tactfully in the field; communication and body language; legal, copyright and ethical considerations.
Essential field techniques: camera set-up and management; streamlining the workflow; lens choices, focusing tips and composition.
Capturing purposeful street imagery: identifying photo opportunities; photographing people, places and products; building a coherent story.
The art of narrative: identifying prime images; uniting the sequence; editing and processing the series; presentation of individual photo essays.
