Two tabs snap into the inner surfaces of the lens hood for a strong positive lock that leaves no play between the hood and the cap.
When the cap is installed, the viewfinder cutout on the lens hood is also closed off and covered from the elements* by a 3D feature that follows the curves of the lens hood perfectly.

No branding on the front for a discrete, stealthy look which blends right in to the aesthetics of the camera. The surfaces of the cap are perfectly planar with the surfaces of the 12465 hood so this just feels like an extension of the camera
